Some weeks seem longer than others but time passes by so much faster when there is so much do in the same day. Since the empower net clubs started life has been on over drive, living, learning and exploring possible options that could change the life of girls across the world. It feels like a great responsibility but knowing it could give another person a better tomorrow makes it worth it every step of the way. My greatest joy has been sharing this amazing platform with my colleagues and the girls in our pilot program. One writer wrote “a life lived to serve others is a life well lived! “By James hopper, lm starting to understand what he meant.
Service in its self is an instrument that changes your world view of life, it moves you from a perspective where it’s all about your dreams and what you would want to achieve to place where you can feel the heartbeat of other people’s needs and selflessly respond in every way you can.
The reward of a life of service is seeing any life transform overtime, you tend to look back at where you started and see how far you have come. Moments later an overwhelming feeling of satisfaction well up inside and you say to yourself “l would do this over again if l had too, to get to this point right here”. Spending time in the field with communities opens your heart to relationships you treasure because you know there is no where in the world you would experience what you have right there.
Life is meaningless if you can’t find the place you know you are meant to be or the reason you live for. Waking up every morning, going through an intense day “workload”, getting home tired with a smirk on your face that is a reflection of your satisfaction. That feeling is priceless yet so many miss out on it every day of their lives. Think about it …..
